THE BARBER SOHO NEW YORK sits on Thompson St, in the middle of the neighborhood's daily foot traffic — the kind of shop people walk past on the way to the subway and end up walking into. We built it to feel like both: a fast, precise cut when you need one, and a place worth lingering in when you don't.
The chairs stay busy, but the room never feels rushed. Music plays at conversation volume on purpose — you should be able to talk to your barber, or just sit with your thoughts, without shouting over a speaker. Lighting is bright and even, because a fade only looks as good as the mirror shows it.
We see a lot of regulars, and a lot of first-timers who become regulars. Walk-ins are always welcome, and most clients book ahead so their preferred barber and time are locked in. Cash and card both work at the register — no fuss either way.

Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
Walk-ins are always welcome. That said, most clients book ahead to guarantee their preferred barber and time slot — especially on Saturdays.
What are your hours?
Tuesday through Friday, 9am to 7pm. Saturday, 8am to 5pm. We're closed Sunday and Monday.
Is it family-friendly? Do you cut kids' hair?
Yes — we offer a dedicated kids' cut ($22, ages 12 and under) and the shop is comfortable for parents waiting with children.
How do I pay?
We accept both cash and card, no minimum, no surcharge.
